WEDDING FASHION INSPO

We're currently in the middle of the Summer wedding season, meaning many of us guests are having to think about what on earth we are going to wear - bearing in mind not to wear white or upstage the bride. It's hard enough finding a good wedding outfit and some may argue it's even harder if you're petite! However, I can assure you it's not...

...So for this post I wanted to showcase a petite wedding outfit I put together for a friend's recent wedding reception. I always think a dressy dress is a typical wedding guest choice, which is fair enough, but if you follow my blog you will know that I'm not the biggest fan of dresses. Therefore, I wanted to wear something a little different which wasn't typical 'dressy', but still pretty and elegant.

Having already decided I didn't want to wear a dress, I opted to make a skirt the focal point of the outfit. I chose a high-waisted, fitted pencil skirt, with an amazing colourful kaleidoscope print, which I just love. I paired a nude coloured cropped bralet with the skirt and finished off with my favourite rose gold ankle strap heels (how could I not wear heels to a wedding reception!?). To be playful, I added my Tea & Tequila avocado clutch bag, which has been featured in a previous post. Depending on how I'm feeling, I'm not always big on adding jewellery as I much prefer to style my hair and do slightly more intense makeup (slightly being the key word!). Therefore, I felt there was no need for jewellery with this wedding outfit, but you could always add a gold bangle or simple necklace or earrings. Depending if it's a little chilly, I would always suggest taking a simple shawl to wrap around you.

I was really happy with this petite wedding guest outfit and received lots of compliments from the other guests. What's your favourite look for a wedding?
