I like to start of January with new beauty products. Whether that be make up or skincare, it's always nice to switch it up and introduce some new products into the beauty mix. In this post, I will be reviewing the following products:
TARTE SHAPE TAPE CONTOUR CONCEALER
LUSH COSMETICS HONEY LIP SCRUB
MAC STUDDED KISS MATTE LIPSTICK
I have literally seen this concealer everywhere - from my Instagram feed to every make up tutorial on YouTube. Referencing to the majority of my beauty posts, I am always on the look out for a good, full coverage under eye concealer. I feel I may have found the best one yet with the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. It's pretty full coverage, yet doesn't feel heavy or cakey under the eye. It's matte drying, so you have to work quick with the product, using a Beauty Blender to blend the product in. The application wand is much larger compared to other concealers, holding alot of product, meaning you only have to apply the concealer once under the eye - which allows for control, helping to eliminate creasing of the under eye. As Tarte Cosmetics is not physically stocked anywhere in the U.K, it was really hard trying to find the correct shade! After watching many make up tutorials, featuring bloggers with a similar skin tone to me, I took a chance and eventually ordered the shade 'tan', which has luckily turned out to be a great match for me. As mentioned in a previous post, I prefer my under eye area to be brighter than the rest of my face, which is exactly what the Tarte Shape Tape does. I would compare the consistency of Shape Tape to that of the NARS Radiant Cream Concealer, but Shape Tape being more full coverage, which is definitely what I need. I love the Shape Tape concealer and I would say it's probably one of my favourite additions to my make up collection.
In the Winter, our skin can suffer, including our poor lips - from the constant lipstick wear, central heating and cold weather, they can become really dry and sensitive. Fortunately for me, I was gifted the Lush Cosmetics Honey Lip Scrub, which is an amazing product to give my lips some extra TLC. It smells and tastes amazing, as well as being very easy to use. After removing my make up (and lipstick), I literally scoop a small amount out and gently rub it all over my lips. My lips instantly feel exfoliated, smoother and plumper. After, I simply apply some lip balm. I think this is an essential product, not only for Winter, but all year round as our lips tend to be forgotten about. I also love that this lip scrub is a natural product, which makes me feel better about rubbing it all over my lips!
I own numerous MAC lipsticks, so it's always nice to have a new addition to the MAC family. I was also kindly gifted Studded Kiss, which can be described as a maroon type, deep red hue. It's a beautiful colour, which is very Autumnal/wintery, which I love. As the lipstick is matte, it's so important to ensure lips are full exfoliated and prepped, which is where the Lush lip scrub comes in perfectly. For extra colour intensity, I would also add a MAC lipliner underneath - possibly Mahogany or Dark Out. I love the colour Studded Kiss and it's definitely one which will get plenty of wear over the next few months!
