Happy New Year everybody and welcome to the first blog post of the New Year 2017! I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas/New Year period. Around this time of the year, I especially love to have a clear out of old make up/beauty/cosmetic products, which means I obviously have to replace them with brand new spanking products (yippee!).

This time in particular, I'm all about replacing old nail polishes which have sadly turned gloopy or dried out. Essie is one of my favourite nail polish brands in the whole world - purely because of their massive range of colours, the quality of the polishes and easy application.

The three new Essie colours I have purchased that I am absolutely loving are:

  • Chubby Cheeks

  • Bahama Mama

  • Oh Behave!

(I also just love the names!).

Chubby Cheeks is quite a coral based colour, which is a little different from the likes of your typical reds. I feel it's quite a Summery/holiday colour which is ideal for upcoming Spring/Summer. I'm in the process of growing my nails long again, so I love having quite an eye-popping colour on them to make them look pretty.

I think Bahama Mama is definitely a colour every nail polish lover should have in their collection! I literally have hundreds of nail polishes (many of which are slight variations of the same colour - we're all guilty of it) and I think Bahama Mama has finally completed my collection. Bahama Mama is a much lighter version of Essie's Bordeaux, being a warm, deep but less intense plum colour. I think Bahama Mama is perfect for any season or occasion, whether it be Summer or Winter, a wedding or work. I always get compliments when I have this colour on, because I think it's quite an unusual pretty colour.

This  polish was a Christmas gift. It's the lightest of the three shades and quite a subtle number for when you don't feel like going all out with your nails. It's from the Essie Winter 2016 range so it's pretty new to the collection. It can be described as a gold, shimmery peach, which is quite nude/light on. Definitely one for the hands, as I feel a pale colour is not the greatest on feet. Nevertheless, this colour is stunning all year round for a toned down look to nails.
