HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE MINIS - THE RED EDITION

I've previously blogged about Huda Beauty products, including the much loved Huda Beauty lashes and Huda Beauty liquid matte lipsticks. With Summer fast approaching, I've decided I want to revamp my make up collection by adding some brighter lip shades. I currently have the following shades from the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick range:

  • Trophy Wife
  • Material Girl
  • Famous
  • Spice Girl

So I've been carefully considering which new Huda Beauty liquid lipstick(s) to buy (as they are £18 a pop from Cult Beauty), when I came across the recently launched Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis. They are the most cutest things ever and such good value for money - £33 for four matte minis. Yes, sure the minis are smaller in size (1.9ml) compared to the original (5ml), but I firmly believe a little product definitely goes a long way with these liquid mattes. The matte minis come in four different editions:

  • The Red Edition
  • The Brown Edition
  • The Pink Edition
  • The Nude Edition

For this post, I will be reviewing the Red Edition. I feel red is totally Summer and looks great with a tan and sunglasses, when on holiday. So there's nothing better than four different reds all conveniently packaged into one. I love the idea of the matte minis, as you don't have to limit yourself to just one or two shades (as mentioned above, they are pricey per lipstick) and you're left spoilt for choice, which we can't complain about! Plus, as they're only small sizes, they can be conveniently taken on board in hand luggage when travelling. What I especially love about Huda Beauty products, in particular the liquid mattes, is that they cater for all skin tones, meaning all women of all colours are catered for - yes! Slay Huda Beauty!!!!

SHOWGIRL

I've been really excited to try Showgirl, as it's a new recently launched shade. It's a deep cranberry type pinky red, with a slight metallic look to it. It's definitely something different for my lip collection, as I've always had deep, mauve reds. This is perfect, in the sense it's not too over the top. The metallic is a nice subtle change, which looks great as a day or night look. Like all the Huda Beauty liquid matte lipsticks, application is super easy and my lips feel hydrated. The colour is very pigmented, which would be further exaggerated with the use of a Huda Beauty lip contour pencil. Overall, I am very happy with this colour and the quality. It's definitely a gorgeous Summer time metallic red, which literally doesn't come off throughout the day!

HEARTBREAKER

I have been after a good quality, super bright red for a while. Heartbreaker is everything a red should be - a gorgeous vibrant colour, which is all about Summer. I can easily wear this colour on holiday, with a pair of sunglasses, which is all that's needed as the colour speaks for itself. It's so bright and pigmented, literally brightening up my face up and it stays on all day. The colour is very easy to apply and doesn't leave my lips feeling dry by the end of the day. It's definitely a red that was missing from my make up collection and I'm so glad Huda Beauty introduced it.

MATERIAL GIRL & FAMOUS

Fortunately for me, I already have Material Girl and Famous in full sizes, so I'm now prepared for when they eventually run out. I'd say out of all the Huda Beauty colours I own, Material Girl is by far my favourite. Both colours are gorgeous darker hues of red which I've previously blogged about, so I won't repeat myself too much. I have however included new pictures of these shades, because I love them that much! I would say on my lips and my skin tone, Material Girl comes across as a bright purple as oppose to red. Famous is quite a deep red, with slight hues of dark purple.

FAMOUS

MATERIAL GIRL

Overall, I think the Huda Beauty liquid matte minis are excellent value for money - it works out roughly £8 a lipstick. I like how the individual editions are each focused on particular shades - reds, nudes etc. I think it's a good idea to have that choice and not be limited to just one colour, when there's so many variations of that one shade (if that makes sense!). For me, the mini sizes are so convenient for when travelling or just to keep in my handbag when I'm on the go. As the liquid matte lipsticks hardly need topping up throughout the day, I see these minis lasting a hella long time!
