Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Now you know how it goes around this time of the year - 'new year, new me' hype, 100 New Year's resolutions and not to mention all that 'gym' and 'diet' talk... Enough already! Personally, I'm not into all that. I prefer to make a conscious effort to actively go to the gym all year round and not solely just January as Christmas/the New Year have been and gone. As well as this, I'm all for healthy eating and having a balanced diet all year round.

That's why for the first post of 2016, I wanted to shift the focus from a 'typical must go to the gym' post to a gym fashion post (yay!). I think gym attire ('athleisure') has become so cool over the last few years, to the point where I wish it was acceptable to turn up to the office in a pair of crazy gym pants and a cute crop!

These leggings are my favourite pair of gym leggings in my wardrobe! They were from H&M a few months ago and I just love the neon waist band. The leggings are so flattering and comfortable. They feature a handy little zip pocket on the back. When I'm in the mood, I'm all for a good crop top to match the leggings. This particular grey number is from T.K Maxx and was very reasonably priced at around £12. It's just the right length and comes with built in support. It's nice and fitted, whilst being super comfortable. For my trainers, I have opted for my beloved Nike Roshe Runs. However, please note I only wear these trainers when strictly doing resistance training. If I am planning on doing cardio/ a long run, I wear my proper running trainers, as they offer my feet better support.

I also wanted to share my favourite Nutribullet recipe, to keep in theme with the whole healthy eating/post Christmas/New Year buzz. This particular recipe is so refreshing and fruity. Definitely one of my favourites:

  • 1 medium ripe banana, sliced
  • A handful of strawberries, raspberries or blueberries (or a mixture)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Apple juice or water to the fill line (although it tastes much better with apple juice!)

Pop all the ingredients into the Nutribullet, blend everything together until it's smooth and to your desired consistency. Enjoy!
